We had mixed emotions about the main event of Summerslam 2010, mostly the fear of being disappointed. The mystery member of Team WWE had still not been announced and we thought that it would probably be Mark Henry (It always is, isn't it?). But to our surprise, The Miz decided that he would take the spot. Ok, that isn't too bad.
Just when we got comfortable in our seats to watch the match, John Cena decides to say that Miz was too late and he has already found someone. Hence, both of us literally on the edge of our seats, feeling sick with anticipation...
Cena: "Well, sorry Miz but you are too late. You see, we have been looking all over for another member and we have already found one."
Miz: "Who? Who could possibly be more awesome than me?"
Cena: "Good question, but maybe there is somebody. Somebody with millions...and millions of fans."
Miz: "So, who are you going to get? Lady Gaga? The Jonas Brothers?"
Cena: "Sadly, no. We have got this man..."
-"IF YOU SMELLLL, WHAT THE ROCK, IS COOKIN'."
And then I woke up.
There was no Rock. But there was a huge surprise that it was Daniel Bryan that showed up. We are not the biggest fans of his here at 'Oh My...' but we applauded WWE on an actual surprise. Unfortunately, there are three things wrong with Daniel Bryan being the mystery member.
1. Nobody mentioned that he had any bad feelings towards the Nexus. Last time we saw him, he was working with them. Confusing, yes.
2. He spat in Cena's face, now they are acting like best buddies.
3. His facial hair looks abysmal.
The actual match was very good, since this was basically professionals against rookies. It eventually got down to John Cena and Wade Barrett. We were hoping that Wade would pull this one out of the bag because Nexus had dominated nearly everyone on the roster. We were mistaken, Wade the 6'5'', bare knuckle fighting Mancunian tapped out to Cena.
Overall, this PPV was worth staying up until 4 in the morning for. Roll on Summerslam 2011.

Summerslam Part 2. 'Oh dear, this can't end good.' - 17th August '10
Next up was a promo by The Miz (OMW's second favourite wrestler after Dashing of course, who there was a serious lack of at SSlam), where he said that he was going to revea
l whether or not he would be on WWE's team against The Nexus. We were hoping that he would say he wasn't going to, not because we didn't want to see him wrestle, but because we were hoping for a big surprise to fill the remaining spot, say, The Rock returning (as if that was ever going to happen). Mizzy was saying about how all the team had begged him to join the team, and came up with the funniest line we've heard in wrestling all year - "John Cena said I'm the only one who can see him". We didn't really hear a lot of what the Miz was saying after this becuase we were laughing so hard. Anyway, the long and short of it was that he was going to join WWE's team in the fight against the Nexus. And then of course the obligatory "Because I'm The Miz...", you know the rest. OK, so no surprise team member for that match then. Or is there...?

Then came the match for the WWE Championship between current champion Sheamus and Randy Orton. The match started with a little showboating and taunting from Sheamus, not clever when you've got Randy Orton across the ring from you. There's a bit of back and forward for a while until a steel chair is bought into the equation by Sheamus. Oh dear, this can't end good. The referee tries to fight the chair from Sheamus, and fails, getting knocked out of the ring in the process. This of course ends in a disqualification for the Human Jar Of Mayonaise and a win for RanOr, though not in the way he had hoped. He took out his frustrations on the champ, leading to a RKO on the announcers' table. Let's hope that Randy gets back what he thoroughly deserves soon (although this is doubtful of the rumours of HHH coming back for a feud with Sheamus are to be believed).
Next up was the (overly predictable) match between Kane and Rey Mysterio for the World Heavyweight Championship. Kane enters with a casket (or coffin, in English), and we predict from the very start what is going to happen with that. Every time Kane opened the casket, we were expecting to see someone pop out of it. But no, at least 3 times we were disapointed. The match finished with quite a good set of moves and counters, and Kane picked up the win. Kane goes for the casket, opens it, and Guess Who? It's only the bloomin' Undertaker! Predictable, but good all the same. He's looking pretty rough nowadays isn't he? Obviously MC Cool isn't taking good care of her old man. Go on Taker, whip out the Just For Men. After Undy threatening ReyRey, but believing that he wasn't the one who attacked him, he turned his attentions to Kane, who at this point thought he'd gotten away with it if it weren't for that meddling Mysterio. Both grabbed each other round the neck to set up for a Chokeslam, but Kane overpowered Taker and swiftly tombstoned him. Next there'll probably be the predictable Brother vs Brother feud for the 273 millionth time.

Summerslam Part 1. 'Eeeew. I do not like that!' - 16 August '10
Here at 'Oh My...' we don't normally get so excited about Summerslam. This year though it was a different story. Probably because the Sky+ refused to record it so we had to stay up to watch the whole thing until 4am...

Been as we were sacrificing sleep for Summerslam, we thought would throw a bit of a bash. Cue, a trip to the supermarket. We ended up buying: Crisp 'Jerichos', 'Friday Night' Angel Delight, 'West Coast' Pop, 'Long Island Iced Z', Skips 'Sheffield', 'Cross Face' Chicken Wings, a 'Human Jar of Mayonnaise' and the Chomp 'Is Here!'. We also bought 'Summerslam' Salsa. (A bit of a tenuous link, but I really wanted salsa...)
Then, the show finally started. The first match was for the IC title, first out was Dolph 'Why do I have to pretend Vickie is my girlfriend?' Ziggler, along with Vickie 'I should really stay behing the curtain' Guerrero. Kofi then bounced out, looking like a Jamaican Hulk Hogan. The match was going pretty well until from out of the blue, NNNNNNN turned up. I was not expecting that, well not in a Smackdown match anyway. They could have at least waited until it had finished, or done it in a more high profile match. Oh well, at least Ziggler still has the title...
Next was the Divas Championship match. I still don't get why Alicia Fox had the thing in the first place, her legs are way too long for her body to be co-ordinated with them. Melina came out wearing a headdress and many other things that took too long to remove. And when she did remove them, she was wearing the most hideous tights which probably made her look naked to the people in the nosebleed seats. The match was a bit of a train reck, a couple of good moves from Melina saved the match. Then it all ended very quickly, with Melina as new Divas Champion. Well done. No time to celebrate though as LayCool (The Marmite of the Divas division, you either love them or hate them) came to beat up Melina and Alicia Fox. Michelle McCool even dropped her i-Phone on the floor which was still there when she went back up the ramp. In Chesterfield that would have been swiped and sold on Ebay in 10 seconds...
Next was Big Show vs the SES. The hilight of this was looking at CM Punk's new tattoo and going, 'Eeeew. I do not like that!' The match was actually quite good, bearing in mind this was a 3 on 1 handicap match involving the Big Show. What distracted me in this match, was that Joey (Sorry, Joseph) Mercury over sells most of his moves. He always takes it 1 step too far. Maybe he is jealous that John Morrison could keep his job, and his hair...Punk and Serena then left the rest of the SES to tackle the Big Show. They failed miserably. I sense cracks in the foundations of the SES.
