'...it got people talking about why they love wrestling. ' - 6 December '10

If you haven't already seen this video, please watch it.

I came across it one day whilst looking through wrestling tributes and it is probably my favourite tribute to date. It's a blog post from Andrew 'Test' Martin after the tragic death of Eddie Guerrero. It is a harsh look at what the wrestling business is really like for some of the workers and it shows all the people who say wrestling is 'fake', what these guys really go through. I think it is a fitting tribute to Test, who sadly passed away in 2009.

The line that stuck in my head most was, 'Yes wrestling is entertainment but the bumps and bruises are real and sometimes they don't go away...'

Because even though we say that some wrestlers suck or that they don't deserve a job, the truth is that they all work as hard as each other. These are probably some of the most talented athletes in the world, yet they get some of the harshest critisism of any profession. That's why I think that 'Stand Up For WWE' is such a good idea, it got people talking about why they love wrestling.

I think for all those wrestlers who have broken bones, torn muscles or are crippled by the time they are 50, not giving them the recognition they deserve is like a slap in the face.

So if one of your friends starts to say how 'fake' and ridiculous pro-wrestling is, show them this tribute.
